Ethos Acquires MailGate

MailGate, a leading provider of email security solutions, has been acquired by Ethos Software.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Ethos Software’s strategy to expand its footprint in the “private cloud” market with applications that drive productivity for organizations where security is mission critical. MailGate has earned a strong reputation for providing robust, scalable, and policy-driven email protection tools used by government agencies, healthcare providers, and financial institutions. 

In addition to MailGate, Ethos also owns Syncplicity, a secure file-sharing solution used by a similar customer base.

“This is more than an acquisition—it’s a strategic alignment of vision,” said Mo Lam, Managing Partner of Ethos Software. “MailGate’s capabilities in email encryption, data loss prevention, and policy-based filtering are a natural complement to our mission of helping organizations communicate with confidence and compliance.”

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Existing MailGate customers can expect uninterrupted service and enhanced support as the integration progresses.
